# Code of Conduct

> Community guidelines and expected behavior for Dzaleka Online Services contributors and users

## Our Commitment

Dzaleka Online Services is dedicated to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and harassment-free environment for everyone involved in our community, regardless of:

* Age, body size, disability, ethnicity
* Gender identity and expression
* Level of experience or education
* Nationality, personal appearance, race, or religion
* Sexual identity and orientation
* Socioeconomic status

### Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are not tolerated:

#### Harassment and Discrimination

* Offensive comments related to personal characteristics
* Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
* Unwelcome sexual attention or advances
* Publishing others' private information without consent
* Discriminatory jokes or language
* Trolling or insulting comments

#### Disruption

* Sustained disruption of discussions or events
* Spam or promotional content unrelated to the project
* Off-topic or inappropriate content
* Deliberate misinformation

#### Professional Misconduct

* Plagiarism or claiming others' work as your own
* Sabotaging the project or community resources
* Abuse of the reporting process
* Retaliation against those who report violations

## Our Responsibilities

### Project Maintainers

Project maintainers are responsible for:

### Community Members

All community members are expected to:

* Adhere to this Code of Conduct in all project spaces
* Report violations promptly and honestly
* Support maintainers in upholding community standards
* Create a welcoming environment for newcomers

## Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all project spaces, including:

* GitHub repositories (issues, pull requests, discussions)
* Project documentation and websites
* Social media accounts
* Community events (online or in-person)
* Email communications
* Any other forums related to the project

It also applies when representing the project in public spaces, such as:

* Using official project email addresses
* Posting via official social media accounts
* Acting as a representative at events
* Speaking on behalf of the project

## Enforcement

### Enforcement Guidelines

Project maintainers will follow these guidelines when determining consequences:

  **Community Impact:** Use of inappropriate language or unprofessional behavior

  **Consequence:**

  * Private written warning
  * Clarification of violation
  * Explanation of why behavior was inappropriate
  * Request for public apology may be made

  **Community Impact:** Violation through a single incident or series of actions

  **Consequence:**

  * Warning with consequences for continued behavior
  * No interaction with involved parties for specified period
  * Restrictions on participation in community spaces
  * Violation of terms may lead to temporary or permanent ban

  **Community Impact:** Serious violation or sustained inappropriate behavior

  **Consequence:**

  * Temporary ban from all project interactions (30-90 days)
  * No public or private communication with community
  * Violation of ban may result in permanent ban

  **Community Impact:** Pattern of violations, severe violation, or harassment

  **Consequence:**

  * Permanent ban from all project spaces
  * No future interaction with the community
  * May include reporting to relevant authorities

### Appeals Process

If you believe you've been unfairly sanctioned:

1. Send an appeal to **[dzalekaconnect@gmail.com](mailto:dzalekaconnect@gmail.com)** within 14 days
2. Include:
   * Your explanation of events
   * Why you believe the decision was unfair
   * Any additional context
3. The maintainers will review and respond within 14 days

## Privacy and Confidentiality

### Protecting Reporters

* All reports will be handled with discretion
* Reporter identity will be protected
* Details shared only with those who need to know
* No retaliation will be tolerated

### Privacy Considerations

  Do not share personal information about others without consent.
</Warning>

* Respect others' privacy at all times
* Don't publish private information
* Don't share screenshots of private conversations
* Be mindful of cultural sensitivities
